I contacted Lane and he made a quick appointment to come to our home to look at what we were proposing. We wanted to have an electric fireplace installed on a wall that had nothing on it. We needed to have a "pop-out" built to mount the fireplace in and a TV mounted above. We had a photo from a website that inspired the design as described above and also with floating shelves about 3 inches thick and a mantel of sorts but under the fireplace. Lane took the time to not only get our input and design thoughts but took careful measurements and plotted the entire area including kitchen, living area, dining area and entryway so he could get a good feel of how this project would fit in with the rest of the house. Long story shorter, he came back with drawings and specs. We discussed several things such as wood type and stain for the floating shelves. We agreed on the design and costs and were ready to have the job begin. It gets better. He came in with his subcontractor, Jon and they proceeded to seal the work area by building a plastic wall to contain dust created during the construction phase. They laid a protective liner on the floor so as to not damage our flooring. All very professional. Once the work started all the wood cutting, drywall cutting and custom shelving were all done outside to minimize dust and dirt. The work included framing, drywalling, electrical and custom wood shelving. They finished the project on time and even though we made some last minute changes all were finished on time and on budget. Best of all, we were and are thrilled with the finished product. It turned out as good or better than expected. And it was a wonderful experience. (As wonderful as can be with construction in your home, lol) I would highly recommend Lane as your contractor. He is professional, knows what he is doing and cares about both his customer and the quality of the workmanship. That is a combination that is hard to beat. Choose Young Renovations.Read More
